'Wood anemone'. Lavender blue flowers from
April to May. Happy in most garden soils in light or dappled shade.
This selection of our native plant is a more intense blue than the species. The specific name of nemorosa refers to its woodland habits.
If the soil is moist the flowering season will extend into June.
Promoted in old herbals for many complaints, though none to be recommended
now.
