DIANTHUS MYRTINERVIUS
at Hoo House

Bright, rich pink flowers with a dark ring round a pale eye up to 15cm from June to July. Grows best in very poor, well drained soil. If the soil is too rich it may grow lanky and be disappointing. At its best it makes a tight cushion or prostrate mat with masses of the 10mm flowers on very short stems. It is native to N. Greece and the Balkans.
