Flowers up to 30cm from April to October. The flowers have a yellow center, a corolla that is 5-lobed with white petals, which become pink and finally purple with age. The leaves are evergreen.
The variation in flower colour on the same plant makes this a particularly attractive groundcover. Too large for most rock gardens, but very suitable for gravel areas and borders where it will seed itdelf around.
